    Shaftesbury Capital PLC formed a strategic, long-term Covent Garden Partnership with Norges Bank Investment Management in respect of its Covent Garden estate.

  • 2023

    Shaftesbury PLC and Capital & Counties Properties PLC combined to form Shaftesbury Capital PLC, creating the leading central London mixed-use REIT.

  • 2010

    Capital & Counties demerged from Liberty International to become Capital & Counties Properties PLC ("Capco"), listed on the LSE and the JSE.

  • 2007

    Shaftesbury became a Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT"). 

  • 2006

    Capco acquired the iconic Covent Garden Market, Piazza and surrounding streets, establishing the foundations of its Covent Garden estate.

  • 1996

    Liberty International Holdings was formed following the renaming of Transatlantic Holdings plc.

  • 1995

    Shaftesbury continued investing in new and emerging West End districts, building a distinctive portfolio across Carnaby, Soho, Seven Dials, Covent Garden and Fitzrovia. 

  • 1988

    Shaftesbury made a series of key acquisitions across Chinatown, Carnaby and Seven Dials, establishing the foundations of its West End portfolio. 

  • 1987

    Shaftesbury listed on the London Stock Exchange. 

  • 1986

    Shaftesbury was founded by the Levy family and acquired its first holding in Chinatown.

  • 1933

    Capital & Counties Property Company Limited was incorporated, with a portfolio of property in London and the Home Counties.
