SHAFTESBURY ANNOUNCES IKKS PARIS LAUNCH INTO THE UK WITH FIRST STORE ON CARNABY STREET

Shaftesbury announces the launch of French fashion and lifestyle brand IKKS Paris into the UK with their first store on Carnaby Street marking the brands entry into the UK. Bringing Parisian attitude and a sense of free spirit to London, the shop will open at 3 Carnaby Street this May. The 2,610 sq ft store spans two floors with a full collection of womenswear, menswear, and kidswear. This will be the first permanent UK flagship for the brand.

The brand will sit perfectly within the existing retail portfolio of exciting fashion concepts on Carnaby Street that offer customers a point of difference and a premium shopping experience. IKKS Paris will unveil the full general store concept for the first time in this permanent flagship location”.

IKKS Paris, was founded in 1987 by Gérard Le Goff and offers a full collection of womenswear, menswear, kidswear and accessories. IKKS Paris aims to embolden urban free spirits around the world to rock their lives through creative, responsible, 365-day Parisian easy chic fashion. The collection includes four stylistic pillars, Urban Rock, Urban Cargo, Urban Military and Urban Mobility.

The new store has been designed to ensure customers have a premium experience, including a lounge area and complimentary coffee for customers as well as regular in-store brand activations including style sessions, talks and personalisation. Natural materials are used throughout the store.

The store opening is set against a backdrop of strong growth over the past 35 years and continued Global reach through the brands online store and the recent inclusion in the first metaverse fashion week where IKKS opened a virtual flagship.

Presenting their SS22 collection in full when they open, the store will hold UK exclusives, and will include a showcase of their hero ‘Free the Sea’ collection, a sustainable range made using Sequal yarn produced by the Seaqual initiative, which uses recycled plastic waste from the sea with proceeds going to The SeaCleaners NGO. The capsule collection runs across women’s, men’s and kids and includes iconic French breton stripe pieces.

The brand is also known for its signature leather pieces, seen in striking biker jackets, bags and combat boots. The iconic 1440 handbags, so named as there are 1440 minutes in each day, are available in a range of colour and size options. The menswear collection offers both tailored and sportswear looks. Kidswear is available ages 3 months up to 14 years. Prices range from £45 - £740 for womenswear, £45 - £595 for menswear and £15 - £139 for kidswear.

IKKS has a close connection with the sea, and is making a commitment with The SeaCleaners to protect the oceans. By donating 5% of all Free The Sea sales to the NGO, IKKS is supporting the project to build the Manta: a unique boat that will sail the oceans in 2024 to collect up to 10,000 tonnes of plastic waste per year.

The women's and girls swimwear collection is made of using 82% SEAQUAL® YARN AND 18% Elastane. The men’s and boy’s swimwear collection is made using 70% SEAQUAL® YARN AND 30% recycled polyester.

SS22 Collection

Themes are from solar beauty with warm desert vibes and ivory tones, connecting to freedom and nature with vintage blossom patterns and camouflage. Touching on rebellion, freedom, feminine and masculinity, rock n' roll, nature, sophistication, minimalism, transformation and imagination the IKKS Spring-Summer 2022 collection celebrates the power to be free and committed through fashion.

Key pieces for womenswear include ‘White Tailoring’; inspired by a man’s double breasted suit and adds a timeless element to the collection, ‘Pagoda Shoulder Chrome Free Lambskin Leather Jacket’; a rock icon, with supple lambskin leather and pagoda sleeves, adds structure and texture to the figure. A key piece for both womenswear and girls kidswear is the ‘Limited Edition Capsule’ combining rock and elegance with timelessness, with smocking detail at the waist.
