Shaftesbury lease the 4th floor of 70 Broadwick Street to global investment group Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ)

Leading global investment group CDPQ have put their faith in London, Carnaby and Soho by leasing the 4th floor of 70 Broadwick Street from Shaftesbury. The 10-year lease of 17,429 sq ft has been agreed ahead of completion and will become CDPQ’s new European headquarters.

CDPQ’s new headquarters is located at the gateway between world-famous Carnaby Street and the heart of Soho. The 4 th floor, with its own dedicated entrance, features a private, wrap-around terrace with panoramic views across Carnaby and central London, with access to a 2,000 sq ft

The wider building will open in Q4 2022 and is targeting BREEAM Excellent accreditation. The building features near net zero carbon heat pump heating, photovoltaic panels on two floors and integrated biodiversity with extensive planters, living walls and a green roof.

Avison Young and CMS acted for CDPQ and RX London, Colliers International and Hogan Lovells for Shaftesbury.

“Physical workplaces will continue to play an important role in London’s recovery and we’re excited to welcome CDPQ to the Carnaby community.

“Working in the West End offers unique experiences and exciting amenities, at a time when employers and employees are placing more value than ever on their surroundings. 70 Broadwick Street is not only built to the highest spec but is a truly mixed-use building– the perfect spot for a talented, ambitious workforce.”

David Morley, Managing Director and Head of Europe, CDPQ Mondial, CDPQ London adds:

“Our move to 70 Broadwick Street –a vibrant, diverse location in the heart of Soho – demonstrates our commitment to London. It will enable us to create an attractive and sustainable workplace for our European headquarters as we continue to grow.”
