A SUMMER OF FUN AT CARNABY SUMMER FESTIVAL

Carnaby launches a Summer Festival from 8th to 21st August with a line-up full of free live music, giveaways, interactive workshops, plus a host of retail and restaurant promotions fit for all the family.

LIVE MUSIC

On Thursday 11th August and Thursday 18th August free live performances will occur on Ganton Street, just off Carnaby Street between 6pm and 9pm, featuring a line up of UK cross cultural talent.

Conjunto Sabroso

Led by percussion supremo Wilmer Sifonte from Venezuela, Conjunto Sabroso embraces the classic salsa line up of three-piece horn section, congas , timbale, hand percussion, piano, bass and two amazing vocalists who cover classics from legends such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and Ray Barreto. A real treat for Carnaby, this will be a session by one of Europe’s finest salsa big bands.

Sister Suzie and The Right Band

A five-piece band that will take the audience on a musical journey through Blues, Rhythm n Blues and Fifties Rock n’ Roll whilst nodding in the diRection of Irma Thomas, Big Mama Thornton and Elmore James. These cats are a force to be reckoned with. Having regularly played the likes of Glastonbury, all across Europe and the US, this is a rare Carnaby performance for the band and is not to be missed.

Salut Band

International award winning Funk, RnB and Soul show band, Salut will take to the stage with their seven piece line up featuring a singer, bass guitar, electric guitar, drums, keys, a saxophone and a trumpet. Having performed at festivals and supporting global superstars, Salut will keep visitors on their feet as they fill the streets of Carnaby with smash hits and floor fillers from across the ages.

ART, CULTURE, THINGS TO DO FOR FREE

A festival pop-up will offer free bookable activities including family friendly life-drawing, pottery painting, candle making and kokedama workshops, located at 5 Upper James Street. Places are limited and bookable at Carnaby.co.uk.

A range of interactive workshops will also take place including a makeup masterclass at Too Faced, a CBD masterclass at KLORIS and more to be announced soon.

GIVEAWAYS

Throughout the two weeks of Carnaby Summer Festival a series of free giveaways will be activated from Carnaby restaurants and retailers. From a free water bottle in Just Hype, Korean ice cream cups in Korean Dinner Party, to a free piercing in Metal Morphosis or indulging in a free KFC burger at Jinjuu*.

SHOP AND EAT

A diverse line up of activations, promotions, new cocktails and special menus will feature across the 14 streets of Carnaby.

Carnaby is world renowned for one-off experiences, brands and products, and is host to many global flagship and independents such as Gilly Hicks, Annie’s Ibiza, IKKS Paris, RS No.9 Carnaby, The Great Frog, American Classics, END., and NICCE.

Aubin’s flagship store will showcase a line-up of DJ’s throughout August and beauty brand Pixi launches a Wheel of Fortune concept for customers to win prizes.

Dine in a range of Carnaby eateries including Marsha, Zahter, Mamma Pastrama, Kanada-Ya, Dishoom and Shoryu. Head to Bar Crispin and enjoy their sparkling wine for £5 or enjoy a Jamaican Jazz series at the brand new late night jazz bar Nightjar.
